It is well known that being read to at an early age is advantageous on multiple dimensions to the individual and to society. BookWork aims to foster a love for reading and improve literacy among young children by incentivizing reading led by teenage siblings. Every child deserves the opportunity to develop strong literacy skills through engaging reading experiences.
We are a passionate team of educators, technologists, and community advocates committed to fostering a love of reading and learning in children.
Founder
Dave is our founder and inspired the idea to reward young readers for reading. He has been involved in education for over 20 years and is an assistant professor at the University of California Santa Barbara.
He’s been shaping the direction of BookWork’s development so that our initial study can lead to a scaleable real world solution.
